New Olympus Update!

Hey New Olympians,
For the last month or so, I have been doing some rewrites on the first chapter of the New Olympus comic mini series. As of last Friday, the script is locked. Well, I am sure we will be doing some editing as the pages start to get laid out, but the script is ready to be drawn by Kevin.

Even though issue one has been locked in, book two has already been coming along nicely. As I write this post, issue number two is five pages in and the first draft will be completed pretty soon. The farther we get in the project, it should get more streamlined.

I am incredibly excited about the future of the book and hope that you follow the updates on the Orange Circle Comics Twitter, Facebook or Google+ pages.

Getting the Party Started.

I have been working on the plot of the seven issue series of New Olympus. I have to say, when I started this I thought it would be a lot smoother. I have never done a crime noir story before and apparently it is best to put in a lot of layers. Actually I knew about that part, but when you are trying to create a whole world from scratch and inject a bunch of interesting characters into it, all while telling an interesting story, it can get a bit cumbersome. Well, today I am finishing up the plot and am going to start working on the actual script tomorrow.

The script should flow out pretty quickly. I cannot wait to start seeing pages from Kevin start to roll in. This journey is just starting to take flight and we couldn’t be more excited for you to join us!

2012 is Starting off Strong!

We’re already twenty days into 2012 and the book is coming along really well. I have been doing a lot of plotting, while Kevin has been doing a ton of design work. When I first talked to Kevin about this idea, he was very excited, which in return made me excited. But then he started sending me artwork and I became elated!

Over the last week Kevin has sent me several drawings of some of the inhabitants of the New Olympus story and they are great! It is amazing how close he is coming to what I was thinking in my head. Even though he is in Florida and I am in Southern California, we appear to be on the same wavelength. It’s been amazing!

I just wanted to touch base with anyone who visits the blog, but I need to get back to writing a book instead of this post.

In the Beginning...

Well, 2011 is almost kaput and New Olympus is coming along swimmingly. While I have been plotting out some story elements that me and Kevin have discussed, he has been hard at work doing some character design. As a New Year’s treat, here is an image of a major player in the story of New Olympus.

We can’t tell you much about him now, but he is integral to the story that is being told. Have a safe and happy New Year’s Eve, we’ll see you soon!

What is New Olympus?

The project known as “New Olympus” is very much under wraps. But we can tell you that it is a Comic Book, some would say a Graphic Novel, that is really going to flip your noodle! Kevin M Stone (Big House Comics’ Old Soldiers) is collaborating with Ralph d Apel (writer of this blog post) to create the greatest love letter to Future Stories of the Past!
